The Consulate General of Israel in New York represents the State of Israel in New York, Connecticut, and Northern New Jersey.

In an attempt to bring the interest rate to "normal" levels, the Bank of Israel announced today that it will be maintaining the interest rate at 2%. The Bank's goal is to keep the interest rate between 1-3%, thereby creating financial stability. In contrast to a number of developed economies across the globe, the Israeli economy has been steadily growing during the recession. Its average rate of growth during the last five years has been approximately 4%.
