The Secretary-General of the OECD, Angel Gurria, will be traveling to Israel this Friday to mark the country's recent ascension to the OECD. Gurria will be hosted by the Israel Minister of Finance, Yuval Steinitz, and will also take part in a special ceremony with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, Vice Prime Minister Silvan Shalom, and others.
Israel was unanimously voted into the prestigious organization in May 2010, making it the 33rd country to join.
